IT’S all systems go ahead of this year’s Armoy Road Races, which are taking place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July, as race entries officially open and programme packages are due to go on sale on Friday (24th May). Expected to draw thousands of fans from across the world, event organisers Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club is also calling for sponsors for the last remaining races.
The Club has confirmed that a second Supertwin race has been added to an already packed racing schedule bringing the total number of races for 2024 to two on the evening of Friday 26th and twelve on Saturday 27th July.
Races available for sponsorship include the popular Supersport, and the Classic Superbike, as well as the new Supertwins race on the Friday night.
William Munnis, Clerk of the Course and Chairman said: “I’m very happy in how the Armoy Road Races has continued to grow year on year. We have a great team of volunteers and club officials, alongside a dedicated group of supporters, that are continuing Armoy’s rich heritage of road racing – it takes every one of those people to make it happen.
“This year we are expecting a strong entry from the riders. And with the addition of a new race on the Friday night, it is gearing up to be one of our busiest yet.
“As always, we are indebted to so many local companies that have supported us by sponsoring a race, especially our title sponsor, the Bayview Hotel. This year we’ve a few races still requiring a sponsor and it’s a great opportunity for interested sponsors to get their business involved with the Armoy Road Races.
“Our sponsors will have their name associated with the race, a full-page advert in the programme, exposure on our social media channels, information included on our website, VIP tickets for the corporate hospitality marquee with a bespoke viewing area which is one of the best ways to enjoy the racing.
“Our programme packages also include a vehicle parking pass and a limited-edition event lanyard which enables spectators to enter vantage points around the circuit which are situated on privately owned land.”
Elsewhere, William also confirmed that Greenlight TV, which is filming for BBC Sport NI and ITV 4 have also been secured for this year’s event, with further coverage to appear on many other satellite channels.
“We’re looking forward to having BBC Sport NI and ITV 4 onboard, which gives us a great platform to highlight the beautiful north coast while showcasing the immense amount of talent that will be taking part in this year’s races,” William continued.
“Planning is well underway and we’re keen to tie down these final few races. As a Club, we would like to encourage all local businesses to consider lending their support to what is truly a legendary event that puts our local community firmly on the global stage. We would ask sponsors to get in touch with Bill Kennedy on: 07734 776694 or Jackie Logan on: 028 9091 8675.”
This year, Bike Week runs from Sunday 21st July with the races taking place on Friday 26th July and Saturday 27th July 2024 culminating in the Bayview Hotel ‘Race of Legends.’ The Armoy Road Races are part funded by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
