The JAQ Group.
The JAQ Group is a rapid growth e-commerance business based in Randalstown, County Antrim. The company produces a popular range of perfumes and skincare products under brands including The Essence Vault, Liquid London, and Thomson Carter, and operates a third-party logistics arm, JAQ Fulfilment.
Following a sustained period of significant growth, The JAQ Group announced plans to build new manufacturing and storage facilities in Ballymena to support its expansion. The company engaged with NAKEDPR to design and execute a comprehensive Public Affairs campaign to facilitate the approval of its planning proposals.
Measuring success.
The JAQ Group successfully achieved planning permission for its new manufacturing facilities. This new facility will be located in Ballymena and will become the company’s principal facility, creating perfumes and skincare products, with the current site in Randalstown also continuing to operate. The new facility will create a further 300 jobs and will see the Group invest a total of £11 million.
What we achieved.
Some achievements for The JAQ Group, driven by our team at NAKEDPR, include:
Successful planning application approval at Mid and East Antrim Borough Council
Won two business awards in 2025 – Irish News Young Business Leader of the Year and Business Growth Award at Ballymena Business Excellence Awards
People reached from January 2025 to January 2026 through
print and online media.
What we delivered.
We used our considerable public affairs experience to effectively communicate directly to stakeholders the benefits that the new JAQ Group’s facility, including its enhanced capabilities and service offering, would bring through a sustained, high-profile campaign. We identified key stakeholder engagement opportunities and invited members of local government to meet with The JAQ Group. We lobbied for letters of support on behalf of our client, providing all reports, Q&As, speaking notes and engagement with the local community, Council, planners, media and all other relevant stakeholders. Our team achieved positive media coverage at a local and wider level including The Big Interview with Connor Martin in the Belfast Telegraph. We drafted successful award entries for the Irish News Workplace and Employment Awards and Ballymena Business Excellence Awards.
The public affairs campaign by NAKEDPR undoubtedly helped us secure planning permission for our new manufacturing facilities. Jackie and her team provided the support and guidance required and worked hard on our behalf. In addition to achieving the positive planning outcome, the team at NAKEDPR has certainly raised the profile of The JAQ Group.
Connor Martin,
